Lights perform well in first tournament
(Westmont, NJ) – The Minnesota Northern Lights were all smiles Sunday night, very weary and sleepy looking smiles, but smiles nonetheless. “We went to Jersey with the objectives of being competitive and playing our best” said Coach Vince Mackie, “Everybody gave 100% and all the hard work really paid off.”
The girls received a boost from Trish, a pool player from Utah. “Trish sparked our offense and Sam anchored our defense” said Mackie, “Anessa and Megan also gave A-1 performances. For our first time, we performed well, This is something we can build on”. Of the 6 games the team played, they were competitive in five of the games and won one of the games. They were seeded seventh in the seven team field and finished sixth.
A few things the team will remember about this trip:
- Coach V and Megan singing on the plane
- Anessa’s Oh So Tasty Horse Product
- After the sixth game, a very fragrant team hug
- Linda’s luggage experience - the blind girls got their luggage!
- Team Mascot Harvey Vincent
- Anessa winning 5 million dollars off the coach in poker
